Ademba Allans questions woman reps over silence on rising femicide cases

Ademba Allans has questioned women representatives and nominated senators over their response to the rising cases of femicide in Kenya.

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, he mentioned leaders such as Esther Passaris and Karen Nyamu while asking what action they have taken as more women continue losing their lives.

Ademba said he wanted to know whether women leaders have addressed the matter in Parliament or if they are waiting for citizens to organise protests again, like the femicide march that took place in 2024.

“Esther Passaris and all other 47 women reps. Plus all those nominated senators, kina Karen Nyamu. Wanafanya nini about the rising cases ya femicide?” Ademba Allans asked.

He explained that many Kenyans are continuing to witness disturbing reports involving women being killed in different parts of the country. According to him, the issue has become too common, and leaders should now be speaking more openly about it.

“I just want to ask. Ama wanangoja the citizen planned protests like what happened in was it in 2024? The femicide march,” Ademba Allans said.

Ademba also questioned whether women representatives have raised the issue strongly enough in Parliament. He said the public deserves to know the steps leaders are taking as cases continue being reported.

Concerns over women’s safety

“What are they doing? What are your woman reps actually doing about these femicide marches? Have they even raised it in Parliament?” Ademba Allans asked.

He explained that every day, there are reports of women being attacked or killed. Ademba said the situation has left many people worried about the safety of women in the country.

“I just want to ask, your woman rep anafanya nini about these femicide cases, because daily kuna mtu amekufa pale, kuna girlfriend amekua stabbed,” Ademba Allans said.

His remarks come after media personality Amina Abdi also raised concerns about the safety of women and the increasing cases of femicide in Kenya. Amina spoke about the fear many Kenyans are currently living with.

“It’s truly heartbreaking to see what being a Kenyan living in Kenya has become,” Amina Abdi said.

Amina also questioned why there is still no specific femicide law in place despite continued protests and nationwide calls for action. She said women continue losing their lives while many citizens feel unheard and unprotected.
