Otile Brown expresses interest in content creator Mjaka Mfine

Kenyan R&B singer Otile Brown has expressed admiration for content creator Mitchelle Joyce Akoth Oruko, popularly known as Mjaka Mfine.
In a viral post on his Instagram page on Friday, August 15, 2025, the Alivyonipenda hitmaker shared a photo of himself and Mjaka Mfine taken at a past function. Otile praised her beauty and said her eyes had completely drawn him in, to the point that he could not even remember what he was telling her at that moment.
He asked his followers to help him find her by tagging her.
“Kazuri .. anaitwa nani huyu mtoto , Naomba mumtag. Macho hayo sasa , sijui nilikua namuambia nini apa zilikua zimeshika,” Otile captioned the photo.
Loosely translated as:
“Beautiful … what’s the name of this girl? Please tag her for me. Those eyes … I don’t even know what I was telling her here, I was already caught up.”

The post came just weeks after his Ethiopian ex-girlfriend, Nabayet, tied the knot in a wedding that left the singer heartbroken. Otile did not hide his disappointment after learning about her marriage, especially since he had mentioned her in a new song.
“How does she go and get married after I mention her in my new song, which drops tomorrow? Now I feel dumb,” he lamented on his Instagram Stories.
Otile, who has always been open about his affection for Nabayet, revealed in early 2024 that he had tried multiple times to reconcile with her. He confessed that he had travelled to Ethiopia several times, hoping she would take him back.
“I loved my Ethiopian girl; I wanted to marry her. The thing is, I had hurt her a lot in the past, and she rejected me several times. All those trips to Ethiopia were to try and win her back so she could agree to marry me, but she refused. But even I did not fight for her that much, because I felt she had changed. Maybe those heartbreaks and the long distance discouraged her,” Otile Brown noted.
The singer admitted that letting go of Nabayet was one of the hardest decisions he has ever had to make.
“I had to take the L and let go. That decision tormented me a lot. I stayed single for a long time because I felt like no one understood me like she did, and I was afraid that I might never find someone like her for the rest of my life. But now I am grateful I found love. To my concerned big bros, four sisters, moms, and pops in my DMs always love and respect to her,” he wrote.
Dear ex
Following the painful breakup, Otile released Dear Ex, a track from his 2024 album Grace. He described the song as one of his most vulnerable works.
“May that Dear Ex song bless and show you all youngins the way. It took a lot of courage and selflessness to be that vulnerable and tell the story as it was,” he explained.
Otile and Nabayet had dated for four years, a relationship that was admired by many fans. In earlier interviews, Otile praised her as a grounded and hardworking woman who was not attracted to fame.
“Nabbi is a beautiful woman, and what I like about her is that she wants nothing from me. Hataki kiki, hataki Otile Brown, anataka Jack ama Juma. Ni mwanamke ambaye anashughuli zake, kazi zake ambazo anafanya kubwa tu; she is responsible,” he said.
Their relationship came after Otile’s highly publicised romance with socialite Vera Sidika. That affair attracted controversy, with many fans accusing the pair of clout-chasing.
Rumours of a reunion with Nabayet spread in 2022 when Otile was spotted in Ethiopia. The two later clarified that they had met and talked, but eventually agreed to part ways amicably. Nabayet later confirmed that they did not rekindle their relationship.
