South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro has warned former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to show respect to Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, saying he is not of Gachagua’s calibre and that he is better in every way.

Speaking at a public event in Tharaka Nithi County on October 11, 2025, Osoro emphasised the need for decorum and recognition of Kindiki’s contributions.

“You, Wamunyoro, must respect Kindiki. There is nothing you can defeat Kindiki in,” Osoro told the crowd, referring to Gachagua by a nickname commonly used in political circles. He highlighted Kindiki’s achievements in academics, appearance, work ethic, and leadership.

Osoro also exhibited confidence, saying that the 2027 elections are already sealed for the Kenya Kwanza government and that their focus is now on ensuring continued leadership and service.

“The 2027 elections are already set, but we are looking beyond that to 2032. Leadership is about results and service, not personal attacks. Respect those who deliver and focus on building a future for all Kenyans,” he noted, reminding politicians and supporters alike to prioritise competence and decorum over rivalry.

Better in every aspect

Osoro added that Kindiki’s performance is unmatched in all key areas.

“You cannot beat him in studies, in dressing, in looks, or in work. You must respect Professor Kindiki; he is not your peer. Do not go around insulting him. He is a person of action. Today he is here; tomorrow he may be in Kisii, Narok, or elsewhere, but you cannot bring insults here. Let us see if you can stand,” he said.

He also criticised what he described as disrespectful behaviour by political opponents, particularly Gachagua, saying that Kindiki is doing the job they failed to deliver.

The MP added that if Gachagua wants to insult them, he should do so head-on.

“You cannot go around insulting him everywhere. He is a person of work. He was given a job and delivered, while you failed. Today he is here; tomorrow he may be in Kisii or Narok. If you want to insult him, come here and try those words. Stop bringing insults to the public,” Osoro said.
