ODM is a party of conmen and hero worshippers – Muluka

Political analyst Barrack Muluka has, in black and white, said that the ODM Party is full of conmen and that it shouldn’t be treated like some holy movement.
Speaking to K24 TV on Friday, August 1, 2025, the outspoken political expert boldly tore into the Orange Democratic Movement, saying the party is built around blind loyalty and dishonest players.
According to Muluka, ODM is not any different from other political outfits that are full of games and tricks meant to serve personal interests. “ODM is not Jesus Christ,” he said. “It is a political party full of conmen like any other, full of hero worshippers.”
He claimed that ODM thrives on blind support from its followers who act like they’re in a religious movement rather than a political party. “These are people who worship outside an empty shrine,” he added.

Raila an idol
Muluka went on to say that the ODM leader, Raila Odinga, is the centre of everything in the party.
He described Raila as the ‘idol’ that ODM supporters worship, saying, “The idol is Raila Odinga.”
He argued that there’s no real democracy or truth inside ODM because nobody questions Raila or holds him accountable. “ODM is Raila, and Raila is ODM,” he said, noting that the entire structure of the party is tied to one man.
No change will happen unless the idol falls
Muluka warned that unless ODM supporters stop worshipping Raila blindly and begin demanding accountability, the party will continue sinking. He added that a political party should be bigger than just one person, and people must learn to challenge their leaders, not just clap for them.
So far, no senior ODM official has responded to Muluka’s harsh assessment by the time of doing this news article.
