Governor stopped from forwarding name of deputy nominee for vetting

The Employment and Labour Relations Court has stopped the new Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo from forwarding the name of James Gesami for vetting as his deputy governor.

The order issued by the High Court in Kisumu also bars the Nyamira County Assembly from receiving, vetting or approving the name of Dr James Ondicho Gesami as the deputy governor.

This follows the filing of a petition by Vincent Mariita Omao against the nomination of Gesami.
