Former Rift Valley Commissioner George Natembeya who is eyeing the Trans Nzoia governor seat says he will introduce uniforms for the county’s workforce in order to enhance service delivery.
According to Natembeya, workers in uniform tend to dedicate their allocated time to duty without easily going AWOL.
“We will give them distinct uniform to enable them to be identifiable by both the county leadership and general public in a bid to force them to deliver on my government agenda if elected on August 9,” he said.
The former administrator who envisions the county government to work like the Huduma centres said all the staff will be required to have a special dress code for each department just the way nurses put on uniforms.
“A dressing code will ensure the workers can be identified so that they can be approached by residents for service delivery. The culture of technical appearances in offices by the staff will come to an end,” he said.
Natembeya has also challenged residents to be courageous while demanding services saying cowardice plays a key role in promoting the habit of poor service delivery in the region.
He said he would not compromise when it comes to time management and discipline in order to ensure every member of the county government reports to duty on time and accounts for tasks achieved on a daily basis.
“I will not condone laziness at work since a productive workforce is key to the delivery of services,” he said.
