Murang’a: Shock as body of 50-year-old woman suspected to have been killed is found inside well

Residents of Wathenge village in Gaturi, Kiharu Constituency woke up to a rude shock after they found a body of a middle-aged woman dumped in a well.

The body was discovered by one of the residents who had gone to fetch water at the well.

The deceased was identified as Waithira Maingi aged 50 years.

The witness who sought anonymity said she had gone fetch water from the well at around 7.30 am but was shocked to find a human body inside.

Area assistant chief Muhia Gethi said the family of the deceased positively identified her after the body was removed from the well.

“We reported the matter to the police who came and removed the body a few hours later,” he said.

The administrator said investigations into the incident have commenced bringing to book those who committed the heinous act.

“The matter has been taken up by the police officers and they shall get to the bottom of it,” he said.
