Flamboyant City Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has no political ambitions despite building a stellar career in a legal profession that has produced several notable political leaders in the country.

In an interview with Church Show proprietor Daniel Ndumbuki, commonly known as Churchill, Ahmednasir said politics is not a successful career in Kenya and is therefore not willing to join.

“I don’t think we have ever had a successful politician in this country. I can’t say so and so has been very successful in politics. I think when we see someone successful in politics that is when we can try. For now, no. I think there is zero chance of me joining politics,” he said.

According to the renowned Lawyer, most people in Kenya join politics to steal from the public and amass wealth.

He says most politicians acquired their vast wealth after being elected into office something that makes him feel politics is a wrong career for him.

“I tell guys people join politics to steal. I have not seen a politician who has not made more money in politics than when he was outside politics,” he told Churchill.

“If you look at every politician in Kenya, some of them were very poor, have made a lot of money in politics. For me, I do not need to steal from the public. It does not make sense to join politics to become rich at public expense.,” he added.

The City Lawyer who has built a big brand in the legal profession says he prefers enjoying his future life doing farming.

He says he has achieved a lot in the legal field and he feels it is time to focus on farming rather than joining politics where people plunder public resources.

“It does not mean that when you are successful in something you can replicate it in politics. I have done well in law; I have taught in the university, I stopped it. I have practised law and I can’t say I will stop it but I have slowed down. I think politics is not my cup of tea,” he said.

Ahmednasir has over 24 years of experience in practising law. He majorly focuses on Constitutional and Commercial law.

Criminal law is not his cup of tea, he says.

He has represented notable politicians in court including Deputy President William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He once served as the President of the Law Society of Kenya.
