Morara urges Gen Z to unite and seize leadership in 2027

Inclusive National Justice, Economic & Civic Transformation (INJECT) Party leader Morara Kebaso has urged the country’s youth, particularly Gen Z, to organise and take the reins of leadership during the upcoming 2027 General Elections.
Taking to his official X account on Saturday, July 12, 2025, Morara challenged the entrenched dominance of older politicians.
His statement comes amid a wave of unrest and disillusionment with the government, fuelled by ongoing protests and a legacy of broken promises.
“Organise yourselves to take leadership. There is no vacuum in the fight for power. If you keep pulling each other down, you will go to the ballot to choose who among these old people should lead you,” Kebaso wrote, striking a chord with a younger generation that has increasingly demanded change.

Morara’s call also serves as a critique of the government’s strategy to neutralise the opposition by co-opting key figures. Following the 2022 elections, Ruto narrowly defeated opposition leader Raila Odinga, only to later align with him following the widespread June 2024 antigovernment protests led by the Gen Z.
Morara’s political comeback
Morara’s statement comes days after he announced a political comeback just weeks after claiming that he had officially quit politics.
Taking to his official X account on the night of Saturday, July 5, 2025, Morara stated that he had decided to stay on and fight for the better of his country.
According to him, Kenya as it is now is not the kind of country he wants his children to grow up in.
Morara says he is not ready to move elsewhere because he likes the food, the weather, the trees, and the people in Kenya, noting that fighting for the country is a duty he cannot avoid.
“I have decided that this is not the kind of country I want my children to grow up in. And I am not ready to move elsewhere because I like the food, the weather, the trees, and the people. Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, fighting for it is not a choice I should make; IT IS A DUTY I CANNOT AVOID,” Morara stated.
