Inclusive National Justice, Economic & Civic Transformation (INJECT) party leader and youth activist Morara Kebaso has addressed his critics fond of asserting hate opinions of him over his politics.

In a detailed statement shared via his official social media pages on Sunday, May 11, 2025, Kebaso conveyed his exhaustion from seeking affection from Kenyans on social media, noting that they have been conditioned to spread animosity among themselves, thereby sustaining what he described as an existing corrupt system.

The youthful leader was quick to assert that harbouring animosity towards any emerging young leader is not the right approach to winning an election.

He questioned how the youth can expect to discover a capable leader while continually denouncing every young individual who presents themselves.

“I am tired of trying to be loved by Kenyans on social media. I think we have been programmed to hate each other and keep the old corrupt system in power. What we are doing here is not politics this is activism. It cannot win an election. We cannot be in this business of pulling down every young leader that tries to come up and not apply the same standards on the old corrupt leaders.

“We allow the legacy politicians to meet and plan together inspite of them being from different political parties but we don’t want to extend the same grace to young leaders who want to overthrow this system. Where will leaders come from if we keep canceling and deplatforming our own for very flimsy reasons while allowing corrupt thieves and murderers to continue enjoying the airwaves,” he wrote.

Brewing animosity

The outspoken activist asserted that much of the animosity directed towards emerging young leaders originates from unsubstantiated opinions fuelled by hatred to further a specific agenda.

“You call someone a conman and everyone adopts it without producing evidence to show what was conned. But you allow someone who has stolen 6 trillion to be cheered in church and to tell GenZs to arise and shine. You call someone a beggar yet you understand that politics is expensive and until we break the ice of campaign financing no single youth can make it.

“You call someone a project or a traitor without evidence to show when they were paid, how much they were paid and who paid them. Are we going to keep fighting and tearing each other on the basis of lies? Was this movement designed to self-destruct?” he posed.

Kebaso, however, remains optimistic that millions of young people are still searching for a better alternative, one free from a corrupt government and a deceitful opposition.

He encourages those who look up to him to join him in his plans to meet with more young leaders.

“I believe there are millions of youth out there who are looking for an option. They don’t want to choose between a corrupt government and a crooked opposition. They are looking up to leaders like me and you. It doesn’t matter which political party you are in right now. You could even be working in statehouse. But if you have sensed the moment and you want to be part of the alternative, do not be afraid. Join us this week as we meet more young leaders who want to form a political movement for change. Let us reason together,” he said.

He equally implored the youth to disregard hate comments, as these are often expressed by individuals who are frustrated by life’s challenges, including economic difficulties, among other issues.

“Ignore the hate comments on social media. Most of them are coming from people who are depressed and frustrated. Some have lost their businesses due to harsh economic conditions. Others have lost their jobs. Others are living on a salary that cannot sustain a stomach and a roof. We need to understand this situation and rise above it,”
