Increased cases of divorce in Mombasa county have been attributed to the chewing of muguka and miraa among married women.
Sisters for Justice executive director Naila Abdallah said most young women in the county engage in miraa and muguka chewing at the expense of their duties as wives and mothers a vice that has weighed heavily on their marriages.
Addressing residents of Kaloleni area in Mvita sub-county during a community criminal justice forum, Abdallah urged women to shun the habit so as to enable them to take up their roles in the society.
