As construction begins, I assure the people of Kenya, especially the residents of Narok County, that I will be involved at every stage to guarantee the 2 km runway is constructed to international standards and completed on schedule,” Ledama stated.
He also recognised the efforts of Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir for his leadership in pushing the project forward.
Ledama noted the ministry’s fast-tracked approach and effective coordination, which have been instrumental in getting the airport project off the ground.

Praise for Transport PS
Ledama went further to acknowledge Principal Secretary for Aviation Terry Ramadhani for her professionalism and support throughout the planning and launch phase.
Her involvement was described as a reflection of technical competence and coordination within the aviation sector.
He added that Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu played a key role in fast-tracking the tendering process for the terminal building, a critical component of the airport infrastructure.

His intervention was credited for helping to meet critical timelines and ensuring a smooth project rollout.
“I also want to express my gratitude to the Ministry of Transport’s CS, Davis Chirchir, for leading this initiative with such commitment and agility. PS Aviation Terry, your support showcases professionalism. A special thank you to Narok County’s Ole Ntuntu for expediting the tender for the terminal building.” He added

According to Ledama, the successful coordination among national and county government officials in launching the project demonstrates the importance of unity and teamwork over political division.
The construction of Narok International Airport is expected to boost tourism, improve air connectivity, and create new economic opportunities in the South Rift region.
