Kenya Morans have made history by reaching a first ever continental final after stunning Morocco 96-66 in the semifinals of the FIBA Africa Championship in Bamako, Mali Thursday night.
The Morans left nothing to chance in the semifinals, pinning their rivals in their own half in the first two quarters as they took command of the match and never let their guard down even after the interval to earn the historic victory.
Ulinzi Warriors star Eric Mutoro was the toast for Morans as he scores a game-high 32 points in the memorable encounter.
Cliff Owuor’s side had stunned former champions Tunisia on Wednesday night to make the semifinals and Morocco were expected to give them a major headache but it turned out to be a stroll in the park.
The victory is a major achievement for Kenya Morans who’s best performance at that level was a semifinal appearance at the 1987 All Africa Games in Nairobi.
