Kenya Met predicts rainfall in select areas in 7-day forecast

The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has issued a weather forecast for Tuesday, November 11, to Monday, November 17, 2025, warning of sunshine with a little dryness across various parts of the country.
In a report issued on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the alert covers some areas of the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Coastal region, Southeastern Lowlands, Western, and Northeastern Kenya.

According to the Kenya Met, some areas of the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Coastal region, Southeastern Lowlands, Western, and Northeastern Kenya will experience rainfall, while most parts of the country are likely to be sunny and dry.
“Most parts of the country are likely to be sunny and dry. However, rainfall is expected in some areas of the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Coastal region, South-Eastern Lowlands, Western, and North-Eastern Kenya,” Kenya Met said.

Similarly, Kenya Met has warned that during daytime, areas along the Coast, North-Eastern, and North-Western Kenya, as well as parts of the South-Eastern Lowlands and Western Kenya, will experience temperatures above 30°C.

“Daytime (maximum) temperatures above 30°C are expected in the Coast, Northeastern, and Northwestern Kenya, as well as parts of the Southeastern Lowlands and Western Kenya,” read the forecast in part.
In addition, Met has added that parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and around Mt. Kilimanjaro will experience nighttime minimum temperatures of below 10°C.
“Nighttime (minimum) temperatures below 10°C are expected in parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and around Mt. Kilimanjaro,” Kenya Met noted.
Weather review for the past week
On the other hand, the Kenya Meteorological Department revealed a record of the past week’s weather review, which recorded rainfall in several parts of the country.
“Weather Review (3rd–9th November 2025) Rainfall was recorded in several parts of the country. Very heavy rainfall (above 50 mm in 24 hours) was observed in Makueni, Garissa, Kitui, Murang’a, and Migori Counties,” Met revealed.
According to the report, Makueni County recorded the highest 24-hour rainfall: 70.4 mm on 8th November 2025, while Mandera recorded the highest daily maximum temperature (38.4°C) on 3rd November.
“The Mbitini Station (Makueni County) recorded the highest 24-hour rainfall: 70.4 mm on 8th November 2025. •Mandera recorded the highest daily maximum temperature (38.4°C) on 3rd November, while Nyahururu recorded the lowest minimum temperature (6.9°C) on 5th November,” read the review in part.
