The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary traffic disruption along Kipande Road, near the National Museums of Kenya Headquarters, to facilitate critical maintenance works.

The disruption, which commenced on December 27 and is set to end on December 31, 2024, will affect both the Murang’a Road-bound and Parklands/Ojijo Road-bound carriageways on alternating days.

The closure plan is as follows:

1. Friday, December 27 to Sunday, December 29: The Murang’a Road-bound carriageway will be closed.

Traffic from this direction will be diverted to one lane of the Parklands/Ojijo-bound side.

2. Sunday, December 29 to Tuesday, December 31: The Parklands/Ojijo Road-bound carriageway will be closed, with traffic rerouted to one lane of the Murang’a Road-bound side.

KeNHA has advised motorists to consider alternative routes during the maintenance period, including the Thika-Nairobi Highway, Prof. Wangari Maathai Road, Limuru Road, and Kolobot Road.

Kung’u Ndungu, KeNHA Director General, in a notice shared by the agency on Sunday December 29, 2024, emphasized the importance of this routine maintenance for ensuring road safety and seamless connections across the city.

“We urge all road users to exercise patience and cooperate with traffic marshals during this period,” he stated in the notice.

For further inquiries, the public has been directed to contact KeNHA through its toll-free line (0800-211-244), customer care number (0700-423-606), or email at [email protected].
