The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has listed alternative routes to be used by motorists following a temporary closure of the Bomas-Kiserian road on Friday, August 22, 2025.

In a statement released on Friday, August 22, 2025, KeNHA has revealed that motorists using the road between Brookhouse and the Galleria to the Catholic University of Eastern Africa junction will experience a two-month-long traffic disruption.

“KeNHA wishes to inform the public of a temporary traffic disruption due to the closure of Bomas-Kiserian (B19) Road between Brookhouse/Galleria and the Catholic University of Eastern Africa junction from Thursday, 28th August 2025, to Monday, 20th October 2025,” KeNHA wrote.

Worth noting, following the two-month-long traffic disruption, KeNHA has also issued an alternative route to all motorists using the affected roads.

According to KeNHA, motorists are advised to use the Langata, Kiboko, Banda Lane, Magadi, and Mukoma roads.

“Langata Road – Langata South Road – Kiboko Road – Banda Lane – Magadi Road, Langata Road – Langata South Road – Kiboko Road – Mukoma Road – Magadi Road (near Shell Petrol Station),” KeNHA wrote.

The authority is now calling upon motorists to follow the proposed traffic diversion plan as well as the road signs provided.

“KeNHA advises motorists to follow the traffic diversion plan, project road signs, and cooperate with police and traffic marshals on site,” KeNHA said.

Following a public notice dated Tuesday, August 19, 2025, KeNHA stated that due to the scheduled roadworks for the construction of the 2 No. box culverts on the road section from Thursday, 28th August 2025, to Monday, 20th October 2025, the roads will experience a temporary traffic disruption.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) would like to inform the public of a temporary traffic disruption due to the closure of the Bomas-Kiserian (B19) Road from the section after Brookhouse/Galleria (Km 0+500) to the section after the Catholic University of Eastern Africa junction (Km 1+000),” KeNHA wrote.

In addition, KeNHA has noted the traffic disruption is caused by scheduled road construction work of box culverts on the road sections.

“This is due to scheduled roadworks for the construction of the 2 No. box culverts on the road section from Thursday, 28th August 2025, to Monday, 20th October 2025,” KeNHA said.
