The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal on Tuesday suspended the post-election pact between the ruling party Jubilee and Kanu.

This follows an appeal lodged by four lawmakers led by Senator Susan Kihika and three others.

The lawmakers contend that the Jubilee National Executive Council was not consulted before the pact was sealed.

The decision to suspend the post-election pact was issued by the tribunal’s chairman Desma Nungo.

Following the Jubilee-Kanu pact, President Uhuru Kenyatta changed the Senate leadership, dropping Kipchumba Murkomen at the Majority Leader.

In Murkomen’s place, Jubilee picked Kanu Senator, Samuel Poghisio, a close ally of Baringo Senator, Gideon Moi.

However, the House leadership changes have been contested by the affected senators, including Susan Kihika of Nakuru, who ejected from the Majority Whip seat.
