Jeff Koinange, one of the country’s most prominent journalists, has contracted the coronavirus disease.
Koinange, who currently works at the Royal Media Services in Nariobi, revealed the bad news on his Twitter account on Monday, July 20.
His announcement comes amid fears of surging COVID-19 cases, with President Uhuru Kenyatta already convening a meeting between the national government and counties for Friday.
On July 20, Kenya reported 418 new COVID-19 cases after 2,474 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, pushing the country’s total tally to 13,771.
