Jayne Kihara recalls her heated confrontation with Ruto
Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara has recalled that at one point, she had a bitter exchange with President William Ruto over Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.
Speaking to Kameme TV on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Kihara revealed that she raised concerns directly to the President, fearing that Ndindi Nyoro was being used to divide the Mount Kenya region.
Worried about favouritism
Kihara said she noticed a trend where Ndindi Nyoro was receiving special treatment, including large amounts of money, exclusive access to helicopters, and even being welcomed with red carpet ceremonies. She felt this was not only unfair but also politically dangerous for unity in the region.
“For me, I had seen that President Ruto wanted to use Ndindi Nyoro to divide the Mount Kenya region. He could be given huge cash, get access to high-end choppers, and even a red carpet laid,” Kihara said.

She added that she took it upon herself to caution the President about the direction things were going. However, she said the president did not take her words lightly and responded in a heated manner.
“I remember asking and cautioning Ruto about Ndindi, and guess the response. He shouted at me, Jayne, Jayne, what do you take me for?” she said.
Still stood her ground
Despite the sharp exchange, Kihara said she stood her ground and continued to urge the president to control what she described as growing division within his political house.
“I continued to dare him to call his house to order,” she added.
Kihara described President Ruto as a politically cunning leader who knows how to build influence behind the scenes. She warned that the political moves being made within the ruling coalition could affect long-term trust and unity in Mount Kenya.
Her remarks have added to ongoing political discussions in the region, especially as various leaders begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general election.
President Ruto and MP Ndindi Nyoro have not yet responded to Kihara’s claims by the time of writing this story.
