Itumbi dismisses fallout claims with Ruto’s speechwriter Eric Ngeno

Dennis Itumbi, Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy, has publicly dismissed claims of a fallout with Eric Ngeno, President William Ruto’s speechwriter, and another aide, Jayesh Sain, emphasising their shared commitment to delivering the Kenya Kwanza agenda.
In a post on X on Thursday, May 22, 2025, Itumbi addressed speculation that has recently surfaced in newspaper headlines, clarifying that his professional relationship with Ngeno remains intact after over a decade of collaboration.
“Some stuff just exists in newspaper headlines. I’ve worked with @EricNgeno for over 10 years — no fallout, no feud. But if sideshows and gossip keep you entertained, muendelee. Our eyes are on the prize: DELIVERY over distractions,” Itumbi stated in his post.
Itumbi’s professional relationship with Ngeno dates back to their time under retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, when Ruto was Deputy President. Ngeno served as a speechwriter, while Itumbi was a State House Digital Strategist and Diaspora Communications Director.
Itumbi, who serves as the Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President, has been a key figure in Kenya’s political communication landscape.
Their partnership has been marked by close collaboration on projects aimed at advancing Kenya’s political and developmental agenda.

Itumbi urges focus on governance
The rumours of a supposed feud, which appear to have originated from unverified reports in certain media outlets, have been met with scepticism by those familiar with the duo’s working relationship.
By addressing the issue directly on X, Itumbi not only quashed the rumours but also redirected attention to the importance of focusing on tangible outcomes.
This development comes at a time when Kenya’s political landscape is increasingly polarised, with public discourse often dominated by speculation and sensationalism. Itumbi’s response serves as a reminder of the need to maintain focus on governance and development priorities.
With the nation facing critical socio-economic challenges, the focus on unity and purpose among Ruto’s aides could prove pivotal in maintaining public trust and advancing key projects.
The post has already sparked discussions online, with some users praising the clarity and focus of his message.
