Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has confirmed that indeed his marriage with Lillian Ng’ang’a ended two months ago after being in a romantic relationship for years.

He went ahead to explain that their relationship had been a blessing to him.

“There is a song by Roger Whittaker that has the line: ‘the first time we said hello, we started to say goodbye.’ Lillian and I have been a blessing to each other,’’ Mutua wrote on his social media handles.

“We are on amicable terms and remain very close as friends. We will continue to talk, meet and share ideas constantly,’’ Mutua added.

Mutua’s sentiments come hours after the former Machakos First Lady issued a statement to confirm that she was going to step down after ending her relationship with the governor.

“The only constant in life is change, and we must be present and aware to appreciate and embrace it,” she wrote.

Lilian further said that she now wants to concentrate more on her charity works under Lilian Ng’ang’a Foundation.
