Murang’a Deputy Governor Stephen Munania exchanged wedding vows with Charity Mbinya on Saturday, August 24, 2024, evening in a colorful and joyous ceremony held in Thika, Kiambu County.

The newlyweds marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives in a celebration of love and commitment that was graced by a host of dignitaries, including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Gachagua congratulates newlyweds

DP Gachagua who was accompanied by his wife Dorcas Rigathi has taken to his official X account to express his delight in witnessing the couple’s union.

The second in command in his statement also emphasized the added responsibility that comes with marriage, especially for those in public service.

“Congratulations are in order, Murang’a Deputy Governor Stephen Munania and Charity Mbinya as you start a new journey of marriage. Marriage is an institution ordained by God to be the foundation and building block of the community, society and Nation,” Gachagua stated.

Gachagua’s encouragement

He further encouraged the newlyweds to continue serving the people of Murang’a with the same dedication and to embrace the responsibilities of family life.

“With my wife Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, it was delightful this evening, witnessing the colourful ceremony as you exchanged your wedding vows in Thika, Kiambu County. As you continue serve the People of Murang’a, you now have an added responsibility in family life,” DP Gachagua added.

High-profile guests

The event was attended by an array of high-profile guests, including Cabinet Secretaries Alice Wahome (Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development), Governors Irungu Kang’ata (Murang’a), Joseph Ole Lenku (Kajiado), and a host of deputy governors from across the country.

Among the DGs who attended the wedding were Rosemary Kirika (Kiambu), Njoroge Muchiri (Nairobi), David Kinaniri (Nyeri), Mathaara Mwangi (Nyandarua), Tamalinye Koech (Narok), Nyaga Muisraeli (Tharaka Nithi), and Philomena Bineah (Trans-Nzoia).

In attendance were also Senators Seki Lenku (Kajiado) and Veronica Maina, as well as Members of Parliament Mary Wamaua and Onesmus Ngogoyo.

The presence of Murang’a County Assembly Speaker Johnson Mukuha, various MCAs, clergy, and elders further highlighted the significance of the event within both political and community spheres.

The wedding was marked by a blend of traditional and modern elements, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the couple.

Stephen Munania, now carrying the dual roles of a public servant and a family man, was congratulated and encouraged to continue his exemplary service to the people of Murang’a.
