Eight people were on Sunday killed and 9 others injured in Forole Location in Marsabit County by suspected Ethiopian militiamen.

Marsabit County Police Commander Steve Oloo confirmed the incident to K24 Digital, saying simultaneous attacks occurred on the Kenya-Ethiopia border in North Horr Constituency.

The attackers struck in the dead of the night at Forolle and Sabareh where herders were resting after coming from the grazing zones on Saturday.

An unknown number of livestock — goats and sheep — were stolen in Forole while 500 heads of cattle were taken in Sabareh.

Security officers have been deployed in the area to ward off attackers but the suspected Ethiopian attackers have since crossed the border back to their country.
