President William Ruto has awarded Gor Mahia FC Ksh10 million following the team’s triumphant 2025/26 Premier League campaign, where they emerged as the newly crowned champions of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League.
Ruto delivered the reward on Sunday, June 7, 2026, while hosting a delegation from the club at State House, where the team presented the swanking trophy at the presidential official residence.

During his State House address, Ruto reiterated his praise of the club, acknowledging the immense role they have been playing in flying the Kenyan flag high

“I want to congratulate you for what you are doing. Today, Kenya salutes you for the standard of football you have set and continues to achieve,” he said.

According to a confirmation by the club, the head of state also pledged further support as K’Ogalo prepares for its upcoming Confederation of African Football (CAF) interclub campaign.
In addition to the main financial prize, the president’s generosity extended to the individuals behind the victory. “Every member of the winning squad and technical bench will receive a token of Ksh 100,000 in recognition of their dedication, hard work, and contribution to securing the club’s historic league success,” the club stated.

By virtue of their victory, Gor Mahia had already bagged the newly increased KSh 15 million league cash prize, and the rewards have kept flowing since they reclaimed the title.
National Treasury visit
Before the State House visit, the team, led by Chairman Ambrose Rachier, visited the Treasury Building on June 4, 2026, where National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi hosted them. While receiving the league trophy from the team, the CS lauded their efforts, presented them with a financial reward, and hailed the club for securing their record-breaking 22nd title.
“Gor Mahia FC continues to bring joy and passion to the football fraternity through its rich history and loyal, electrifying supporters. As 22-time league champions, K’Ogalo remains a true symbol of greatness in Kenyan football,” Mbadi said.
Internal PS Raymond Omollo and SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri were also among those present during the event.
