Didmus Barasa gushes over his wife’s graduation
Kimilili Member of Parliament (MP) Didmus Barasa on Saturday, July 12, 2025, poured his heart out after witnessing his wife’s graduation.
In a statement, Barasa remarked that the feat signalled a new chapter in his spouse’s life and that she had achieved the milestone as a result of believing in her dreams.

Barasa, whose bid for the 2027 gubernatorial seat in Bungoma suffered a major blow after area leaders endorsed Tim Wanyonyi for the seat, has kept his family life private, only revealing at one point that he had one wife.
After acquiring his chopper in 2024, which he now uses to traverse the vast Bungoma County, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale had questioned his source of wealth, threatening a fierce online exchange, where he revealed that he could own the chopper because, unlike Khalwale, he had only one wife.

“Senator Boni Khalwale, I have heard you mention me in the Senate proceedings regarding my purchase of a helicopter. Indeed, this is true. I made a choice between having one wife, a helicopter, and trusting in God.
“In contrast, you chose a Nissan Patrol, ten wives, over twenty-five concubines, fathered forty-six known children, and maintained 35 houses for hood rats across the country,” Barasa stated.
In response, Khalwale told Barasa to keep calm, calling on the president to investigate his flashy lifestyle at a time when protests had just emerged over the flamboyant lives of government officials.
“Didmus Barasa, take it easy; helicopters will not change your life,” Khalwale noted.
“The president should ask himself how the membership of an MP on a committee in Parliament can be the basis for him to be able to afford some of the things that are not affordable.”
