DCI warns Kenyans against eight wanted terror suspects on their radar among them University student

A Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology student is among eight terror suspects on the radar of Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

According to the security agency the eight suspects were allegedly planning terror activities within Kenya and its borders and could be part of the Al-Shabaab militant group.

The eight include, Mohamed Ali Hussein, Ahmed Ali Mohamed, Abdurahman Hija aka Mnubi, Erick Njoroge Wachira aka Mohamed Njoroge aka Moha.

Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir aka Ikrima, Peter Guchungu Njoroge aka Mustafa, Mohamud Abdi Aden alias Mohamed Yare and Kassim Musa Mwarusi aka Abu Miki are also on the radar of the detectives.

Peter Gichungu a former JKUAT student was arrested in Mandera enroute Somalia to join the Al-Shabaab back in 2020.

He was prosecuted and later released two years ago and after a brief stay, he would later travel to Somalia where he successfully joined Al-Shabaab accompanied by his girlfriend.

The detectives also revealed Mohamed Ali Hussein together with Ahmed Ali Mohamed were part of a foiled Al-Shabaab planned attack back in 2018.

They were arrested while planning to carry out a Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) but managed to escape and return to Somalia.

Abdurahman Hija alias Mnubi and Erick Njoroge Wachira aka Mohamed was part of a criminal gang that used to terrorize Nyeri residents.

They joined the Somali-based terrorist outfit in 2016 after undergoing training.

Another terror suspect, Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir has been linked to Al-Qaeda militants in Yemen.

It is alleged he was involved in the planning of the Dusit attack and the 2010 Kampala bombings alongside Mohamud Abdi Aden.

Kassim Musa Mwarusi aka Abu Miki, is suspected of radicalizing youth in Likoni, Diani and Ukunda areas, Mombasa County and has associations with several criminal gangs in the said areas.

Detectives have asked the public to provide any information that may lead to the arrest of the terror suspects.
