Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has launched an attack on President William Ruto, warning that his leadership style is pushing Kenya toward political and economic ruin.

In a statement on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, Amisi said Ruto’s confrontational approach, including his recent attacks on MPs from his own UDA party, paints the image of a leader “made crazy by the gods before punishment comes.”

“When the gods want to punish you, they first make you crazy. Ruto is attacking even his UDA MPs, accusing them of smelling like Kilimanjaro goats. His style is threatening, promising, misleading, misgoverning, lying and travelling all over the world carelessly,” he stated.

The legislator further criticised the government’s heavy reliance on the e-Citizen platform, claiming it had turned into a “corruption den” where every public service has been reduced to a money-making venture.

“E-citizen is a corruption den; everything in government is a money-making venture. When do we sit down and build a nation?” he added.

He cautioned that if the President does not change course, his day of reckoning will arrive at the ballot in 2027

“Who will help this guy before the day of reckoning in 2027?” he posed.

Ruto

His remarks come after President  Ruto accused a section of Members of Parliament of receiving bribes to vote against the recently enacted anti-money laundering law

Speaking during a joint parliamentary group meeting with ODM and UDA legislators on Monday, August 18, 2025, Ruto said he was aware of corrupt dealings within parliamentary committees.

“There are legitimate concerns about how resources are being spent at the counties, and we cannot run away. By virtue of the position I hold today, I am a consumer of raw intelligence. I know what’s going on,” he said.

The President claimed that some MPs were compromised with millions of shillings to frustrate critical laws.

“Do you, for example, know that a few members of your committee collected Ksh10 million so that you don’t pass that law on anti-money laundering? Did you get the money?” he asked.

Ruto also raised questions on how some county officials access large sums of cash.

“Where does somebody find Ksh150 million? Is that his money? That is money that belongs to the county,” he noted.

He warned that corruption was eroding the credibility of Parliament and undermining public trust.
