Caleb Amisi fires back at Fatuma Jehow’s vote-rigging remarks

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has dismissed claims by Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Jehow about plans to rig the 2027 election in favour of President William Ruto, saying such attempts will not succeed as the political landscape has shifted.
Speaking in Kabuchai on Sunday, July 13, 2025, Amisi stated that the 2027 elections will not involve the usual political players but will feature Gen Zs and a new wave of leaders like himself, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga, and Bumula MP Jack Wamboka.
He emphasised that the current generation of voters and leaders is different from the past, where politicians like Raila Odinga, Eugene Wamalwa, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetang’ula had their victories, according to Amisi, stolen.
According to Amisi, such manipulation will not be possible this time, as they are now up against a more vigilant and determined generation.
“Tunataka kuambia wale wambea wanasema wanataka kuiba kura William Ruto Edwin Sifuna is not Raila Odinga, Caleb Amisi is not Musalia Mudavadi, Wanami Wamboka is not Moses Wetangula, Majimbo Kalasinga is not Eugene Wamalwa. You are dealing with Gen Zs; tutakupepeta na tukupeleke Sugoi,” Amisi says.
Sifuna’s take on the same
In the same event, Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna had blasted Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Jehow. Jehow had openly stated that MPs from the North Eastern region were ready to rig the 2027 general elections in support of President Ruto.

“Wewe unatuambia tungoje 2027, na marafiki zako wanatuambia mnapanga kuiba 2027,” Sifuna said.
Translation: You are telling us to wait for 2027, yet your friends are saying you plan to steal 2027.
He warned that such statements pose a direct threat to Kenya’s democracy, especially with the new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) now in place.
“Mimi kama wakili, najua sheria hairuhusu mtu kuhujumu matokeo ya uchaguzi,” Sifuna said.
Translation: As a lawyer, I know the law does not allow anyone to tamper with election results.
He also demanded accountability from newly appointed IEBC Chair Erastus Ethekon and his team, calling on them to summon MPs like Jehow to answer for their remarks.
