The late Safaricom Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bob Collymore will be laid to rest on Tuesday July 2, telecommunications giant board chairman Nicholas Nganga has said.
Collymore, who succumbed to cancer at his home in Nairobi on Monday, will be buried in a private event open for family members only.
Nganga declined to reveal further details of Collymore’s send off urging Kenyans to give the family time to mourn in private.
“It has been nine years since he joined Safaricom leading with a vision. Safaricom will honour him by building on his legacy. The board will continue to communicate on the way forward,” Nganga said.
Collymore took over from Michael Joseph as Safaricom CEO in 2010.
Collymore, 61, leaves behind a wife and four children.
