Bob Collymore’s ex-wife Claire Bishop Collymore and his widow Wambui Kamiru have settled the dispute over the distribution of the deceased’s vast estate.

Claire and Wambui recorded consent in court on September 23, 2022, after they came up with a mediation agreement dated July 15, 2022, which has not been made public.

“By mutual consent of all the disputants in this matter, all the applications in court concerning the matter under reference are removed by the act of signing this mediation agreement and the matter should be marked settled in the court records with effect from the date of this agreement,” Justice Maureen Odero read the consent which was adopted in court.

Vicious court battle

Claire and Wambui clashed after Bob Collymore’s death in July 2019 because of two wills he left.

One of the wills was dated January 13, 2018, for his estate in the United Kingdom (UK) and the other was dated April 18, 2018, for his properties in Kenya.

Claire, who has two children with Collymore, on July 28, 2021, wanted the court to cancel the authority given to Wambui to administer the deceased’s estate.

She accused Collymore’s widow of failing to disclose and produce true records of the assets of the deceased including bank accounts and statements.

Claire argued that the true records were crucial in helping the court determine the distribution of Collymore’s estate.

Claire’s son James also filed an affidavit seeking to have Wambui removed as administrator of his father’s estate claiming that she meddled with his father’s UK assets hence the mix with the Kenyan estate.

Wambui opposed the cancellation, arguing that there was no evidence to prove the authority granted to her to administer Collymore’s estate was obtained fraudulently.

Collymore’s wealth

Bob Collymore in 2015 revealed that he had assets worth Ksh277.3 million spread out in cash, real estate, cars and shares in various companies.

His two children, James and Sarah, who he sired with his ex-wife Claire inherited Ksh53 million and Ksh77 million respectively under the UK will.

Collymore married Wambui Kamiru on April 1, 2016, in an invitation-only wedding at an upmarket residence in Kitisuru, Nairobi.

He became stepfather to his wife’s two children from her first marriage to Joseph Kinyua.
