Baba Talisha shares his ordeal after being accused of sacrificing his wife

Famous photographer and social media influencer Faustine Lipuku, popularly known as Baba Talisha, has opened up about the painful period following the tragic loss of his wife in a fatal accident.
The influencer revealed that the tragedy was made even more difficult by accusations linking him to his wife’s death, with some claiming he had sacrificed her.
Speaking during a sit-down on a local TV station on Friday, July 25, 2025, Baba Talisha recounted how the accusations and judgement from the public left him deeply hurt.
He explained that the period was marked by intense grief and emotional turmoil as he tried to navigate the tragedy while facing speculation and harsh criticism.
“Some said that I sacrificed my wife; a lot ofthings were said; many people judged,” he said.
Despite the challenges, Baba Talisha acknowledged that he was able to endure the pain because of a strong support system. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming assistance he received, not only from close family members but also from strangers who reached out to stand by him during the difficult time.
He also noted that the support extended to financial help, including the payment of baby Talisha’s hospital bills at a time when he was overwhelmed. Baba Talisha described the experience as a deeply challenging journey that tested his strength but also highlighted the kindness and compassion of those who rallied around him.
“But what gave me strength during that time? I had a very strong support system, not necessarily from family members alone but also from strangers, some I had never met till today. They came through and made it easy for me on my side, even though I don’t know how I managed to pay Baby Talisha’s hospital bill. Things happened just like how Moses managed to navigate the Red Sea,” he added.
Tragedy
He went ahead to share how the tragic road accident claimed the life of his wife and left their young daughter, Talisha, with devastating brain injuries.
Lipuku said that Talisha was born a typical child but, following the accident, acquired Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 2, ADHD (Combined Type), and Dyslexia.
“She was not born like this, but it is due to the accident we had recently. She was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 2, ADHD Combined Type, and Dyslexia,” he explained.
“She had a severe brain injury. At the back, she had a concussion, which made blood get to her brain so it swelled; that is why she was admitted to the ICU. She lost speech, and her ulimi ilikuwa imekatika yani alirudi kuwa mtoto tu; she was two years old by then, but before the accident, she was a normal kid. She acquired the conditions through the accident.”
