The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) seeks to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill various 195 positions in a push to enhance accountability.

In a gazette notice published on MyGov, issued on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the Office of the Auditor-General has stated that it seeks to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill the Deputy Auditor General position, among other key departments.

“Pursuant to Article 252 (1) (c) of the Constitution, the Office seeks to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill the following positions,” Nancy Gathungu-led office said.

According to the external advertisement, among the officers the office intends to recruit are at least two deputy auditor generals and one hundred and fifty audit associates.

“Deputy Auditor General, Principal Legal Officer, Principal Communications Officer, Principal Internal Auditor, Senior Internal Auditor, Audit Associate II, Finance Officer II, ICT Officer II (Security), Communications Officer II, Drivers, and Office Assistant,” OAG wrote.

Candidates applying for the positions are advised to visit the Office of the Auditor-General website for more detailed job descriptions and the procedure for applications.

In addition, all applications must be emailed to the email address provided, as no physical or paper applications will be accepted.

Requirements

When making the applications, applicants have been advised to attach a filled application form clearly indicating the post applied for, full name of the applicant, National ID Card No., telephone number & alternate telephone contact/number, email address, and all other required information.

In addition, academic and professional certificates, a curriculum vitae (CV), and relevant testimonials.

Likewise, a clearance and certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Credit Reference Bureau, Kenya Revenue Authority, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and Higher Education Loans Board.

Qualified and interested applicants are expected to submit their applications to the Office of the Auditor-General on or before Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Likewise, the Office has warned interested applicants against submitting fake documents, as the Office will take appropriate action against any applicant who shall be found to have presented false information.

“It is a criminal offence to provide false information and/or fake documents in job applications. The Office shall take appropriate action on any applicant who shall be found to have presented false information and/or fake documents,” OAG said.

Notably, the Office of the Auditor-General is an independent office established under Article 229 of the Constitution of Kenya. The Office is charged with the primary oversight role of ensuring accountability in the use of public resources within the three arms of government (the Legislature, the Judiciary, and the Executive) as well as the Constitutional Commissions, Independent Office, and any entity that is funded from public funds.
