The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is the most popular party in Kajiado County, a new survey shows.
According to the data released on Tuesday, August 2, by Trends and Insights Africa (TIFA) research firm, the William Ruto-led party is the most popular party in the county with an approval rate of 31 per cent.
Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is ranked second with 34 per cent in the popularity rating.
Jubilee Party is rated third with a 9 per cent rating while George Wajackoyah’s Roots Party came in fourth with 1 per cent.
29 per cent of those polled remain undecided.
The firm conducted 527 interviews between July 27 and 28, 2022 across all the constituencies in Kajiado. The poll’s margin of error was plus or minus 4 per cent.
In Nairobi, the ODM party leads in popularity with a 35 per cent approval rating followed closely by UDA at 30 per cent.
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party, George Wajackoyah’s Roots party and the Wiper party of Kalonzo Musyoka are rated 5, 4 and 3 per cent respectively.
According to the study, 20 per cent of voters in the city are yet to decide on which party to associate themselves with ahead of the August polls.
Azimio maintains lead
In terms of coalition popularity, Raila’s Azimio – One Kenya coalition remains the most preferred coalition in the two counties followed by Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza alliance.
