Rift Valley Regional Commissioner (RC) Mohamed Maalim has assured security to Kuresoi and Molo residents before and after the August 9 election.

Maalim has stated that the Multi-Agency team will be on patrol especially during the night hours to get those who are planning violence.

He called on the Public servants, especially security personnel to go out and preach peace among citizens considering it is less than a week to August 9.

“Anyone who will cause Violence in Kuresoi Molo and the entire Rift valley region will get a free place to sleep and get food in the police cells. Public servants especially officers as we are heading to the elections we have no business sitting in the offices let’s get to where citizens are and interact with them because our presence is important,” Maalim said.

Maalim was speaking after visiting Kuresoi and Molo in Narok County to evaluate the security of the places.

He stated that it is the right of every Kenyan to be protected.

The Rift valley security boss gave a stern warning to those planning to call for demonstrations after Election Day saying they are ready to deal with all who will cause violence.

He called on the residents to work closely with the security team to ensure peace prevails.

“On the election day, let people wake up early go vote and go back to your normal daily duties. If it is business go back to your business and if it is farming go back to your farm. When we see you hanging around the polling station then we will definitely arrest you because you could be having a different agenda which we will not allow,” Maalim stated

“Cast your vote go home and follow the rest on your TV and radio at home,” he added.

Rift Valley RC says police hunting gangs

Further on he said the operations are still on to wipe out the confirmed gang in the city of Nakuru.

He revealed that the gang has now lowered their operations as some have gone into the villages.

The gang has been responsible for the insecurity incidences in Kuresoi and Molo.

He vowed to ensure that the wiping out of criminal gangs will take place in the whole region as they have done in Nakuru.
