Two Kamiguru primary school pupils and their bus driver were on Friday, August 26, killed after their vehicle was involved in an accident at Ntharene Market in South Imenti, Meru County.
10 other pupils were injured in the early morning accident.
The learners were on their way to school when a lorry rammed their school bus, causing it to roll.
Eyewitnesses said the driver of the lorry, which was heading to Nkubu, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer onto the bus lane.
The injured pupils were rushed to Consolata Mission Hospital in Nkubu where they are receiving treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to the hospital’s mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.
