A police officer attached to Rhamu Police station is nursing injuries after he was on Sunday, August 28, 2022, attacked at the bus station in the Nairobi Business District (CBD) by unknown persons.
Constable Felix Nyachio was robbed of his valuables including a phone, national identity card, and a driving license.
“While at Nairobi bus station in the CBD, Nyachio was attacked by an unknown person who stole from him a copy of his driving permit, national ID, an Infinix Note 4 phone valued at Ksh 10,000 among other items,” the police report read in part.
He was injured on the head, left eye, and his tooth broken and is currently receiving treatment as the police continue with investigations.
This comes two days after one robbery suspect was fatally shot while another escaped with gunshot wounds after they attacked an officer attached to the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters within Shirika Estate in the Eastleigh area of Nairobi on Friday, August, 26,2022.
According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, Constable Abubakar Omar was walking towards his house from the mosque with the company of his friend when they were attacked by two robbers on a motorcycle.
One of the robbers drew a pistol and robbed the officer of his valuables including; one mobile phone Samsungung A23 valued at Ksh 25,000, a wallet containing- Certificate of appointment, his National identity card, and another one belonging to his wife, an NHIF card, KCB Atm card Britam towers access card and cash Ksh 2,000.
The robbers demanded more cash from the officer and his friend by shooting him which prompted him to withdraw his Ceska Pistol and shot one of the robbers dead as the other escaped with gunshot injuries.
The scene was visited by Pangani officers and DCI officers from Starehe Sub-county who recovered a Pistol that had six live bullets of 9mm, one spent cartridge, and the motorcycle that was being used by the robbers.
“The officers recovered one Jericho pistol serial No: KP 44338853 with six live rounds of 9mm ammunitions, one spent cartridge of 9mm and a motorcycle reg number KMFE 106P make Bajaj Boxer black in colour,” the police report read in parts.
The body of the deceased was moved to City Morgue awaiting an autopsy and identification as the police continued with a hunt for the other suspect who escaped with injuries.
