Police have arrested a suspected thief who is said to be involved in several incidences of robbery and mugging in Nakuru county.
Officers from Nakuru West Sub County acting on a tip-off from members of the public arrested the man in Jasho Area within Kaptembwo.
“A SUSPECTED NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL ARRESTED IN NAKURU. Earlier today, Police officers from Nakuru West Sub County received information from members of the public that a most wanted person suspected of being involved in several incidences of robbery and mugging has been spotted,” the National Police Service (NPS) tweeted.
“The officers responded swiftly and proceeded to Jasho Area within Kaptembwo and successfully managed to persue and arrest the suspect,” NPS added.

After a search, the officers recovered a dagger suspected to have been used in the course of committing the crimes.
“Upon searching, he was found in possession of a dagger suspected to have been used in the course of commiting crimes,” NPS said.
NPS further thanked members of the public for providing information that led to the arrest of the suspect.
“We thank members of the public for providing information that led to the arrest of the suspect.”
The arrest comes just days after police arrested WaTZ gang leader in Msalaba, Nakuru East.
The 23-year-old man who was arrested is believed to be among the top leaders of the dreaded WaTZ gang, a splinter criminal group of the ‘Confirm’ gang, operating in the informal settlements.
Nakuru County Police Commander Peter Mwanzo said Jackson Marucha Obedi Yasin alias Rodgers was arrested following a tip-off from members of the public that the criminals were holding a meeting in one of the estates.
