Omanyala among constables who graduated in pass-out presided over by Ruto

Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala is among the graduates of the National Police College in Kiganjo, Nyeri county.

The Kenyan sprinter joined 2,881 other constables who graduated today, January 10 in a Pass-out ceremony presided over by President William Ruto.

The graduates according to NPS, finished the Basic Police Training Course and were exposed to a variety of courses such as Human Rights, Community Policing, Public Order Management, Skills at Arms, and Countering Violent Extremism.

Omanyala was appointed as an Inspector by the NPS in 2021 and joined the service and will also be participating in track events for the NPS in future.

“The 25-year-old sensational sprinter has taken up a new role that will see him represent the National Police Service in future track events.” a statement from NPS stated.

Omanyala was briefed on his new duty in the morning at his Jogoo House office by former Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai.

He joins a group of outstanding athletes in the National Police Service including; David Rudisha, Joshua Kamworor, Vivian Cheruiyot, Julius Yego, and the legendary Ezekiel Kemboi.
