Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have today, Tuesday, June 28 summoned Nakuru Town East Member of Parliament (MP) David Gikaria over the rising cases of daytime killings witnessed in the region.

Gikaria was questioned on his alleged association with the ‘confirm’ gang terrorizing residents in the town.

The legislator’s summon comes after the arrest of twenty-seven gang members believed to be associated with the ongoing criminal activities in the area.

Out of the 27 members detained, five were arrested during the first raid while the other 22 were apprehended during the second raid.

The raid was launched by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i who ordered a special operation to flush out the gang.

“We talked to Inspector General of Police, Hillary Mutyambai, and police officers based in Nakuru. We have already placed enough measures to flush out this gang,” Matiang’i announced at the time.
