A lorry driver has come out to narrate his ordeal following the grisly road accident that occurred along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway on Friday, July 8.

Speaking to a local publication, the driver identified as Willy Musyoka shared chilling details of what happened on that fateful day.

Musyoka noted that he was headed for Nairobi in transit to Kampala to deliver a container from Mombasa port. Shortly, he encountered a speeding vehicle and moved aside to let it pass.

“I was driving on the way heading for Nairobi and noticed that there was one speeding vehicle that was oncoming. I moved aside from the road and stopped to let him pass.” he narrated.

The 14-seater-matatu driver however drove towards his lorry hitting it from the front.

According to Musyoka who was alone in the lorry, the driver of the matatu may have slept, losing control of his vehicle.
