Kindiki leads top govt leaders in paying tribute to Ichung’wah’s late father

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen among other top leaders on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, visited the home of National Assembly Majority Leader and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah.

Through his social media pages, Kimani Ichung’wah confirmed the high-profile visit and expressed gratitude to Kenyans who have continued to stand with his family during their period of mourning.

“We remain deeply grateful to our friends and colleagues for standing with us and condoling with our family during this time,” Ichung’wah wrote.

The leaders gathered at the Ichung’wah family home in Kikuyu Constituency to pay tribute to the late Mzee Isaac Ichung’wah Ngugi, the father of the Majority Leader, who passed away recently.

Murkomen’s message of comfort

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen described the late Mzee Isaac Ngugi as a man who lived a life full of lessons and values that resonate beyond his family.

“This morning, I joined H.E. Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki and fellow leaders in condoling with the family of the National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah at their Kikuyu home following the passing of the family patriarch, Mzee Isaac Ichung’wah Ngugi,” Murkomen wrote.

“Mzee Isaac’s life offers lessons in family harmony, hard work and embracing people of different ethnicities.

To my friend Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah and family, we are praying for your comfort and peace during this time of immense grief. May you find solace in the wonderful memories you shared with your father. Poleni sana,”CS Murkomen wrote on Facebook.

Leaders unite in mourning

The condolence visit was marked by unity, with leaders from across the political divide standing in solidarity with the Ichung’wah family.

DP Kindiki, in his remarks, urged Kenyans to celebrate the values of unity, hard work, and harmony that the late Mzee Isaac embodied.

Mzee Isaac Ichung’wah Ngugi is remembered in Kikuyu and beyond as a hardworking and principled man whose values shaped his son’s leadership.

Locals described him as approachable, warm, and deeply rooted in his community.
