In her court papers, the woman says she had received Ksh240,000 from Mombasa to taint the former governor’s name.

“I was approached by two ladies from Mombasa County namely Zuhura and Latifa who promised me a sum of Ksh1million to trash the name of the defendant (Sonko) who was then seeking nomination to contest for the position of Governor Mombasa County by filling the case, ” the woman stated.

” I confirm l have been paid Ksh240,000 in cash by the said two ladies.”
