Govt declares Tuesday, May 3, public holiday to mark Idd-ul-Fitr

The national government has declared Tuesday, May 3, 2022, a national holiday to celebrate Idd-ul-Fitr.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has confirmed.

“It is notified for the general information of the public that the CS for Interior in the exercise of the powers conferred b section 2 (1) of the Public holidays’ Act, declares that Tuesday, the 3rd May 2022, shall be a public holiday to mark Iid-ul-Fitr,” part of the gazette notice read.

Notably, Friday, April 29, 2022, still remains a national holiday to accord the late ex-President Mwai Kibaki a befitting state funeral.
