‘Lengeni simu kabisaa’ – Bahati’s teases Muslim friends as they mark Eid al-Fitr holiday
Musician Kevin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati, has sought to remind his Muslim friends that Easter Holidays as well as Christmas are around the corner as they marked Eid al-Fitr.
Bahati joked that his Muslim friends are ignoring calls amid the festivities, hinting that he had been sidelined on a day marked with celebrations and feasting.
“To my Muslim friends, Lengeni tuu simu kabisaa (To my Muslim friends, keep ignoring calls),” Bahati wrote on Instagram on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Signalling his intention to reciprocate, the singer, who is a Christian, reminded his friends that a similar season of celebration and feasting is around the corner.

“Kumbukeni Easter na Christmas Holidays Haziko Mbali 🫣 (Remember both Easter and Christmas holidays are around the corner),” Bahati stated.
Ruto’s prayerful message
The Government of Kenya declared Friday, March 20, 2026, a public holiday to mark Eid al-Fitr.
The religious holiday, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, is recognised in Kenya as part of the country’s religious diversity.
“We join the Muslim community in celebrating Eid al-Fitr following the sacred month of Ramadan, a time of sacrifice, devotion, prayer, charity, and reflection. May all acts of worship be accepted, hearts renewed and strengthened, and the spirit of faith continue to guide our nation and us,” Ruto’s message reads in part.
What Kalonzo said
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka also marked the day with a message that captured the essence of the day that marks the end of Ramadan.
“On this blessed occasion of Eid al-Fitr, I join our Muslim brothers and sisters in Kenya and across the world in celebrating the completion of the holy month of Ramadan. May the Almighty God accept your fasting, your prayers, and your acts of charity.

“I call upon every Kenyan to choose peace in our homes, our communities, and our politics. Let us honour our diversity as our greatest strength, and walk together towards a future of justice, harmony, and shared prosperity,” Kalonzo stated.
