President William Ruto, Kalonzo Musyoka and Rigathi Gachagua have marked Idd-ul-Fitr with prayerful messages.

The trio took to their respective social media platforms to share their wishes as Muslims in the country and across the world celebrated the religious holiday on Friday, March 20, 2026.

The messages acknowledged religious diversity in the country and conveyed wishes for a happy celebration while also highlighting the importance of faith and prayers in building a just and progressive society.

Ruto’s message

The president’s message captured the essence of the celebrations that come after the holy month of Ramadhan, praying for all Muslims to have their acts of worship accepted.

“We join the Muslim community in celebrating Eid al-Fitr following the sacred month of Ramadan, a time of sacrifice, devotion, prayer, charity, and reflection. May all acts of worship be accepted, hearts renewed and strengthened, and the spirit of faith continue to guide our nation and us.

“Eid is a celebration of these virtues: faith, unity, and gratitude. As we rejoice, let us remember the less fortunate and share kindness so all may partake in its blessings. May this occasion bring peace to our hearts, harmony to our communities, and renewed hope for our nation. Eid Mubarak,” Ruto stated.

What Kalonzo said

In his message, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka reflected on faith and prayers as the bedrock of Kenya while wishing Muslims happy celebrations.

“On this blessed occasion of Eid al-Fitr, I join our Muslim brothers and sisters in Kenya and across the world in celebrating the completion of the holy month of Ramadan. May the Almighty God accept your fasting, your prayers, and your acts of charity,” he stated.

“Faith has always been the bedrock of our nation. Whether we bow in a mosque, kneel in church, or gather under an open sky, we are one people, bound together by a common love for this beautiful land we call Kenya. Let the spirit of this Eid remind us that mercy, generosity, and compassion are not just religious virtues; they are the threads that weave our people into one,” Kalonzo added.

He also preached peace, harmony, and shared prosperity, writing:

“I call upon every Kenyan to choose peace in our homes, our communities, and our politics. Let us honour our diversity as our greatest strength, and walk together towards a future of justice, harmony, and shared prosperity”.

Gachagua’s prayers

On his part, Democracy for the Citizens leader Rigathi Gachagua prayed for renewed hope, unity and purpose in his message.
