Scheduled power blackout to affect 3 counties

A power outage scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2024, is set to impact three Counties across Kenya, according to the latest announcement from Kenya Power.

The blackout, which is planned for maintenance purposes, will affect several areas at different times of the day.

The outage, while temporary, is expected to impact various sectors and activities in the affected Counties.

Kenya Power said that the Saturday power interruption will affect Nairobi, Siaya and Nyeri Counties.

Nairobi

Area: Kibiku. Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Places affected: Mihango Schools, V Mall, Kijani Court, Eastern Bypass, China Rd, Gesora Rd, Corradin Ests, Gesora Rd, Mihango SDA, Kenya Builders, Maono Prayer Center, Karagita Police Post, ESRD Chokaa & adjacent customers.

AREA: Njiru. Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Places affected: Kobil P/Stn, QMP, Midax P/Stn, Muindi Mweusi S/Mkt, Legio Maria, St. Michael, Shepherds Court, Parts of Chokaa, Njiru Light Industries, Njiru Tannery, Lexo P/Stn, St. Monica Catholic, Part of Mwiki Rd, Bee Energy, Ola Petrol Stn, Makama Hardware, Rama Hardware, Njiru Mosque, Kamatuto & adjacent customers.

Siaya

Area: Nyandorera. Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Places affected: Mwer High Sch, Nyandorera, Dibuoro Sch’ & adjacent customers.

Nyeri

Area: Karatina. Time: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Places affected: Karatina Girls High Sch, Karatina Police Stn, Jamii Hosp, Karatina Sub-County Hosp, Nyagah Mechanical, Karatina Jua Kali Industry, Ragati Slaughter, Super Loaf, Mathira Dairy, Karatina University Town Campus, KIE, Saigon, Karatina Railways Stn, NHC Karatina & adjacent customers.
