Police in Embu County are piecing up evidence to unveil the mystery death of two middle-aged men whose bodies were found dumped at Tana River bridge in Mbeere South sub-county.
Embu police have confirmed
According to Mbeere South sub-county police commander Gregory Mutiso, the two bodies were stacked in sacks and dumped on the bridge.
”We were informed by residents that they saw two sacks in the river and they suspected that they were bodies. When police officers visited the scene and after removing the sacks from the river, two bodies of middle-aged men were found inside the sacks,” Mutiso said.
Mutiso further revealed that the unidentified bodies are of men aged between 25 and 30 years.
Embu Level 5 Hospital
Police believe that the two, who had signs of strangulation on their necks, might have been killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped on the bridge.
The bodies were moved to Embu Level 5 hospital pending identification and autopsy.
Mutiso called on whoever may have lost their kin to report to Makutano police station to help in the identification of the bodies that are currently lying at Embu Level 5 Hospital morgue.
Karuku residents are however not shocked by the incident saying the area witnesses similar bizarre incidents almost every year.
Notably, police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have in the recent days launched a crackdown on criminal activities in the country.
