‘We will not fold’ – Gor Mahia vice-chair fires warning to FKF PL title rivals

By , April 13, 2026

Gor Mahia vice chairperson Sally Bolo has delivered a stern warning about K’ogalo’s title prospects in the ongoing Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

In a bold declaration on Sunday, April 12, 2026, Bolo dismissed the assertion that the club could be in another implosion as the league enters the decisive phase.

The record 22-time champions next face Tusker FC. On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, a clash will open a run of the final seven fixtures that include a potentially decisive Mashemeji top-table date against title contenders, AFC Leopards.

Final Stretch

Gor also have reigning champions Police FC, Murang’a Seals and Kakamega Homeboyz to contend with in their fixture roster.

“The final stretch is here, and we are locked in. Focused. Relentless. Anyone thinking we will let this league slip like last season clearly doesn’t understand what it means to wear green.

Ladies and gents, let me tell you, we are not just a club; it’s a legacy, a spirit, a culture that refuses to bow. Gor Mahia doesn’t fold when it matters… we rise,” she stated.

Game by game, point by point until it’s done. K’Ogalo is not just alive; the spirit is stronger than ever, and the united opposition should be aware of this,” she added.

In last season’s campaign, Gor saw a campaign that started on much fanfare and promise unravel before them, ending in heartbreak.

Currently, the club is facing a decisive run-in, sitting just four points above the relegation zone with eight games remaining in the season.

Having once been on a ten-point cushion, a spate of dropped points and inconsistencies has seen the club now sitting far from pretty, with Leopards breathing down their throats.

2025 slump

Gor’s exploits in 2025, however, showed how character and a few games could define one’s season.

Gor faced a trophyless season in a campaign that shifted the team’s outlook from the optimism of winning a double to ending with no silverware to display, drawing a striking analogy to the proverbial chain and its weak and strong points.

A late capitulation characterised by a late relinquishment of the league title to Kenya Police FC culminated in a crushing end to the campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Nairobi United in the FKF Cup finals.

As things stand, the record champions have reclaimed the league honours as their only prospects for a silverware dream and banishing last season’s heartbreak.
