Harambee Stars defender Collins Sichenje will get his Charlton Athletic stint underway this Saturday, February 21, 2026, as the Addicks face Southampton in an EFL clash at the St Mary’s Stadium.

The Kenyan defender has finally earned his berth among the starters for the trip to the South Coast.

His first involvement follows him earning a mention in the team’s matchday squad in three straight league encounters where he remained unused.

Sichenje joined the London-based second-tier side at the start of the year from Serbian side Vojvodina, signing a two-year deal with the Neil Jones team.

The versatile 22-year-old will be tasked with improving Charlton’s rear guard after the team’s 3-1 defeat to Portsmouth last time out.

The coach delivered a damning verdict from Jones, who demanded a better showing from his charges defensively, which might have informed his alterations for the clash.

Poor defensively

“We were really poor tonight. We conceded from long-range strikes. I believe we needed to do better with the goals. Yes, we can defend better, but you cannot block everything. The keeper should be doing something about those strikes from long range. Some referees’ decisions also contributed to the result, but I don’t want to blame it only on the officiating,” he said.

The tie kicks off at 6:00 pm Kenya time.

After the Saints test, Sichenje and Charlton will also visit West Brom on February 24, 2026.

Addicks will then wrap up their month’s campaign with a home clash against Wrexham, in a tie that could pit the Kenyan against his fellow Harambee Stars ace Zak Vyner, who recently signed with the promotion-chasing outfit.

Meanwhile, Job Ochieng and Silko Otieno are among the other Kenyan stars on duty for their respective teams this Saturday.

The two players of Kenyan descent were named in their respective team’s matchday squad, with Ochieng named in Real Sociedad’s first team squad for the Real Oviedo encounter.

Silko also earned a mention on the Leicester bench for the clash against EFL rivals Stoke City, which kicked off at 4:00 pm.
