Monday allays fears over Murang’a Seal goal struggles after Leopards setback

Murang’a Seal tactician Osborne Monday has appealed for calm over his team’s recent struggles in front of goals, noting that the challenge is a passing phase.

Speaking after a 2-0 defeat to AFC Leopards on Sunday, April 5, 2026, Monday stated that the team only needs to remain calm in decisive scoring moments to regain their goal-scoring mojo.

The former international remained adamant that his charges are on the right path, having created numerous chances against Ingwe but failing to convert them.

Not bothered

“For me, I would say we have to be more aggressive. AFC beat us in this regard; they pushed more and made us uncomfortable,” he stated.

“We have been creating chances, which is a positive sign for the team. I am not worried about that; the goals will come. It is all about composure, and everything will work out,” he explained.

Joe’s penalty miss

Among the opportunities squandered in the game was a 70th-minute penalty miss that saw league top scorer Joe Waithira fail to add to his season haul of 15 goals—a miss that eventually came back to haunt them.

Ingwe custodian James Ssetuba thwarted the skipper and kept Ingwe’s lead intact.

That miss proved costly for the home team as Ambani’s side effectively put the game to bed via a Hassan Beja strike with seven minutes left to play.

With this win, Ingwe keeps up the hunt for the elusive league title they last lifted in 1998.

Seals struggles in numbers

For Seal, the run compounded an inconsistent streak where the team has failed to score in two of their recent six games. while conceding an average goal in the period, except for one game.

The club has also faced difficulties in maintaining a strong defense, managing to score twice against Mathare and once away to KCB, resulting in both matches ending in a tie.

Among their latest losses in the league is a narrow 1-0 defeat to Shabana last time out.
